My Nachos

There is one entry that had yet to be in the blog and that was an entry for my own nachos. I have had the following question a couple of times:

-Do you make your own nachos since you have rated everyone else's?

My answer was always "hahaha no I just rate other people's nachos and have never made my own". I will add that I have put cheese on chips and microwaved them for a quick nacho fix, but I never made the homemade nacho experience happen on my own.

Lately I have been trying to cook some food from around the world: chicken tortilla soup, lime soup, chicken afritada, arepas, etc., so I really thought that in the spirit of stepping out of my comfort zone with cooking, it would be only fitting to make my own nachos and add them to the blog.

Homemade guacamole on the side

There I was...in the kitchen all set to put every experience together with the goal of making some excellent nachos. I used ground beef, Que Pasa chips, tomato, cilantro, and Tex Mex cheese. I cooked the ground beef and the vegetables at around the same time. I had the nachos in the oven for 10 minutes and 30 seconds after cooking the vegetables and the ground beef.

I took the first layer and sprinkled some cajun spice on the chips, added all the toppings, and did the same thing with the second layer. I pretty much used the whole package of Tex Mex cheese to make sure it was a very cheesy nacho dish. After 11 minutes, the result was that the nachos were cooked all the way through and there was cheese on every chip. I also made some homemade guacamole to put on the side for some dipping! I enjoyed them and the editor enjoyed them as well!

Some good opportunities would be to put a little more cilantro and tomatoes on them. I would also like to add peppers, refried beans and sour cream (on the side), black olives, and jalapeños. I would also like use steak pieces for the beef instead of ground beef! Finally, I think I have to take it easy on the quantity because we had these at lunch and were not hungry for supper!

I am not grading my own nachos lol

Nacho Blog Rating: Fun!
