The Gahan House is a brewpub that serves pub food and it originated in Charlottetown, PEI in March of 1997. The Gahan House has locations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI. I do not have a good picture from the one from Nova Scotia yet but will add to the blog as soon as I go back. This was one of my original blog entries and continues to be in the hometown top ten!
Most of the toppings were evenly distributed on those delicious corn chips.
Quality
The meat on every plate (chicken, beef, pork, chorizo) is consistently tasty and well-seasoned. I like the mixture of cheese on the crunchy house-made chips. The beef was flavorful and spicy, just how I like it. I really liked the pico de gallo salsa. The guacamole seems better than the generic guacamole you get from many restaurants. There was plenty of dip for the chips, and might be more than needed for the amount of chips that are there. There was just enough cheese but could have used more chips. There was not much of a toast factor but it could have been due to the lack of cheese. I recommend asking for extra cheese when ordering these nachos. There is no spice on the chips, but admittedly that is somewhat rare on most nachos we get. When we do find a place with spice added, it's always a plus because it really jazzes up the nachos.

Gahan House Moncton
The distribution of toppings was just about perfect and there was a great chip to cheese ratio. Lots of cheesy chips in this plate of nachos.
Quality
This plate of nachos had three dips: gahan salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. There were a lot of options for dipping your cheesy chips in. The jalapeƱos were wonderfully spicy and there was a great toast factor with the plate perfectly cooked through. The chips were fresh and crispy and I liked how they were the triangular chip. The salsa was like a pico de gallo and I like how it was different from most salsas. They just simply tasted terrific!
Quantity
I think it's best to order something else on the side when sharing this as a meal. I had calamari on the side and I felt satisfied with that amount of food.
Value
The nachos are $21.50. If you add chicken, cajun chicken, ground beef, or chorizo it is $7 extra. for an extra dip it is $2 extra and for guacamole it is $4 extra. I think the value is fair considering the quality of these nachos.
Conclusion
I think it's fair to say that no matter which Gahan location you go to, you're always going to have a great nacho experience. I think the main thing they should do is increase the quantity, especially for the price that we pay for them. Other than that, they were superb. I enjoyed how we were able to get some really good nachos on a busy night with a crazy snow storm going on outside!

Value
At Gahan House, there is just one size for the nachos, unlike previous visits. The nachos are $19. If you add chicken, Cajun chicken, ground beef, or chorizo it is $6 extra. If you add an extra dip, it is $2 extra. If you add guacamole, it is $4 extra. The price is a little higher than average, but it is fair considering the quality and the distribution of toppings.
Quantity
The size seems to be between a medium and a large plate of nachos. We were satisfied after sharing it for a meal.
Conclusion
The Gahan House has traditionally been one of the contenders for the top nachos in Saint John and has been in the top ten in this blog since the beginning in 2018. They are very tasty and hit most points of what makes a great nacho but could use a little more cheese by default for them to be the best.
