Beertown is located in downtown Toronto and has wonderful indoor seating, away from hornets. Hornets are pretty spooky. They just do this flying swoopy thing and you never know when they might sting or just have a sniff of your food and drink. Maxwell's Plum is a pub located in the downtown core of Halifax, Nova Scotia. We have found ourselves at Maxwell's Plum a couple of times now, and I think that it's safe to say that you should just go there for the beer selection and skip the nac- chips and cheese dip.
This is normally the part where I divide my review into different sections to come to a grand conclusion; however, I think I will make an exception for this place. Let's re-visit what was written on the menu for these nachos:
Maxwell's Famous Frying Pan Nachos
"Maxwell's salsa, green onion, sliced black olives, and jalapeños topped with double cheese, just right for dipping.....served in Maxwell's frying pan with a side of nacho chips and real sour cream."
They did not lie on the menu as the picture shows exactly what is in the description. I am just thinking that people who come to a pub may not read the whole description, see nachos, and then be disappointed to see chips with dip. The chips were tasty and so was the dip, but please understand that these are not nachos.
