We spent the night in Sackville the night before we ran across The Confederation Bridge for the Terry Fox run. I highly recommend that to anyone! It was unlike anything I ever experienced in running! Amazing! We ate a lot of food in Sackville and there was an opportunity to do some nacho research. Normally I would not eat nachos the night before a 13km run but I decided to make an exception and make my way to The Painted Pony Bar & Grill for a nice snack.

| The Painted Pony Chicken Nachos (what was left over) - September 2025 |
Distribution of Toppings
The distribution of toppings was poor. It looks like there are about 20 bare chips left over. Not much under the hood!
Quality
The nachos were very bland and not spicy with just a few jalapeƱos on them. The little bit of cheese that was on these nachos was melted but kind of hard. The chicken was dry but overall it tasted ok. The salsa tasted like it was something out of a bulk jug and was pretty bland. There was a lot of chicken on the nachos and the layer that had the toppings tasted ok.
Quantity
This was sufficient to share as a snack, especially with all the bare chips left over afterwards.
Value
The nachos are $19.99. If you add chicken or chili it is $7 extra. I think these nachos are pricey considering the quality and distribution of toppings.
Conclusion
I'm left at a disadvantage if I have nachos the night before the race. It is so risky for me to have that kind of food and if I take a risk, I want it to be worth it. These nachos were not worth the risk of potentially standing in a long line at the porta potty on The Confederation Bridge. The atmosphere was really nice but I think there are better things to order at that restaurant. It kind of struck me as a burger/fish and chip place. I did often wonder if they hear the song "Pink Pony Club" a lot in their club.
